For October we’re exhibiting paintings and prints by artist Mim Clavane. She uses a range of techniques to create colourful, playful images, blending figures into their interiors and using pattern to bring different worlds to life.

She talks about her work here:

‘I’m an artist who grew up in Wivenhoe, and last year I returned to rekindle my artistic practice, supported by the lovely community.

I’m a bad photographer with a terrible memory, so I often snap a quick photo to remember a moment. To paint, I rediscover these and reinterpret the characters from my life. They’re often squeezed, because they’re escaping the forgotten corners of my phone, unfolding as a fully formed memory.’
